After the kids dried off a little, we drove around and were able to find a makeshift spot that was a little more out of the way. It was by a trailhead, and there was a pretty stream running through. As we were unpacking, another car drove up looking for a place as well. They said they had been all over and couldn't find anything, so, we were lucky that we got there when we did! Our friends met us there, and we set up camp. The kids played in the water, and soon they had company.
It didn't take long for Lucas to look like this...
It makes me laugh because I have a picture of Jason around the same age looking just like this on a camping trip as well.
The family that we went camping with has 4 girls. Between our boys and their girls, we are hoping there will be some pairing up in the future. This is at the beginning of our hike to a glacier lake.
We have a picture of Isaac and Chris up here when Isaac was just a baby. Crazy how time flies!
The kids spent most of the time hiking around on the rocks. They got pretty far and would have gone farther if we wouldn't have called them back.
I had no idea until this trip that Chris had never gone cliff jumping before. It was one of my favorite things to do before I got married. He was really nervous about it, but the peer pressure did him in, and he tried it. Other than the shock of freezing cold water from a glacier lake, he said that it was pretty fun and even did it a few more times.
After the cliff jumping adventure, Chris and Ty played on the rope swing for a while. Isaac and Lexi tried it, but, none of the other kids were interested.
Can anyone see the Virgin Mary in these coals?
