Camping, part 1

We planned a camping trip the weekend after the 24th, thinking that it wouldn't be very busy.  We left as soon as Chris got off of work and got up there while it was still light, but, every campsite that we drove to was full to capacity!  We drove around for hours, and couldn't find anything.  It was dark, the kids were tired, we were tired, and we finally found a place right next to the road and right by the lake.  We used the headlights from the car to set up our tent and sleeping bags, and went to sleep.  The next morning we got up early and packed up so we could drive up a some of the other canyons in hopes of finding a better spot.  While we were packing, the kids played.
They started out skipping rocks.
Then they did a little wading...

Soon the shirts came off and wading turned to this...

Then we just gave up and let them put their swim suits on.
They had so much fun.  It always amazes me how kids can enjoy themselves no matter where they are.  The ground was so rocky and the water was freezing, but, they didn't care.  They were just happy to be outside and to be playing in the lake.  It was a beautiful morning, and, watching them play together and listening to them laugh just made it all the more enjoyable.
Wet clothes.
Even Lucas stripped down and got in on the action.
