My parents came up to visit a few days after Christmas and brought the boys some presents. They were so excited about everything they got!
I will have to get a picture of Lucas and Jason with their presents as well. They both got pillow pets and they love them!
Isaac had a run of bad luck with some jackets that he "misplaced" at school. In two months he lost two nice hoodies from Old Navy. We searched the lost and found multiple times, checked everywhere in our house, checked friend's and relative's houses, and finally realized that they were gone for good. This is something that happens often with Isaac, so, I made a quarter chart for him and told him that each circle on the paper represented a quarter that he owed me, and, all of the quarters added together was what it would cost me to replace both of his jackets. We told him that he would have to do chores to earn quarters and if he did a good job, he could mark them off his chart. We gave him a deadline, but, as it got closer to the date, it was obvious that he was not going to be finished on time. Luckily for him, Santa stepped in. On Christmas morning he did a chore for us and went to mark a quarter off of his chart when he noticed that Santa had marked off half of his quarters for him! Lucky kid! I think it was his favorite present of the day. He was able to finish off the rest of them the following week and he made his deadline. Here is the completed chart. I made him let me take a picture, and as soon as I was done he ripped it up and threw it away. He was so happy to be done!
We spent New Year's Eve with Chris's family this year. The kids, like always, had a blast. They love going there and playing with their cousins.
Chris had fun playing games and listening to music with his brothers and sisters.
A couple of days later was Chris's birthday. Here he is with the boys opening his presents. Isaac picked something out for Chris this year. It was something that he knew he had been wanting for a long time, and he came and told me about it. He scoped them out, priced them, and was so thoughtful and excited about picking the perfect gift. It was really cute. He couldn't wait for Chris to open it!
Chris's birthday Dinner.
After dinner, the boys pulled out the candles and made sure there were enough in Chris's cake. They also planted a few trick candles, and Chris was nice enough to play along.
The kids thought it was hilarious, and couldn't stop giggling.

And of course, Daddy got the very center piece of his cake.
Happy Birthday Chris!!!
