Fireworks, part 2

They always do the fireworks up here the night before the Fourth, so this year we were able to go to our fireworks and then drive up to Chris's parent's house (that just so happens to be located in the fireworks capital of the world) for the actual fourth. The kids had so much fun. They love getting together with their cousins and playing at Grandma and Grandpa's house!

I think the party moved into the front yard around 7 or 8 that night, and so began the fireworks (and my anxiety)...
Chris's Aunt took the boys to the fireworks store and let them pick out some "toys". She came back with a giant bag full of fireworks (to add to the many other bags and boxes that everyone else brought) and divided them up between the kids. All of the boys had their own bag of fireworks, and because it was "theirs", they thought they could light them too...

Adam found a safe place where he could watch all of the fun!
Jason and Hallie
These two boys were just like little kids!

I had to include this picture because if we took two steps forward at the fireworks show at home, we took 4 steps back here with poor Adam. Here is Chris trying to get him to help him with something, and he is freaking out! Everything was happening a little too close for him. Between us, Chris's extended family, and all of the neighbors, it was a little chaotic and a lot loud. Then the city show started and there were fireworks going off in every possible direction. It was a little overwhelming for Adam.
These helped:
